Procedure for taking up JEE Mains and JEE Advanced Exams 2022.

The Indian Institute of Technology does not need any introduction. It is an autonomous public technical university located across India. This is under the jurisdiction of the government of India and one of the prestigious engineering colleges. There are a total number of 23 IITs all over India.

Studying at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) is a dream of every engineering student in India. The IIT colleges in India were formed to prepare scientists and engineers. In 1951, the first-ever Indian Institute of Technology was established in Kharagpur, West Bengal. They are autonomous public institutes for higher technical education, most popular for their B. Tech programs. There are 23 total IITs present in India governed by the Institute of Technology Act 1961 and are declared as important institutes of the nation by the Indian parliament.


Admission into all the IIT colleges in India is carried out through the entrance examinations, namely JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Applicants must appear and clear these two phases - firstly, JEE Main and then JEE Advanced in their first attempt conducted by JoSSA. Qualifying in both examinations is compulsory to secure a seat in the institutes. Getting admitted to an IIT institute is highly competitive as many applicants appear for the exam, and there are a limited number of seats.


Who Can Take JEE Main and JEE Advanced Exams?

Students clearing the Class 12 exams with the subject combination of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible for the JEE Main and Advanced. Once students clear the JEE Main exam, they will be eligible to take the JEE Advance.


Procedure for Taking JEE Main

  1. The first step is to visit the official JEE Main/NTA website.

  2. Then register for the exam.

  3. The essential details must be filled in.

  4. Upload all the documents.

  5. Pay the application fee.

  6. You can then book the exam slots.

  7. Lastly, take the printout of the acknowledgement page to complete the application submission process.



Procedure for Taking JEE Advanced

Students are eligible for JEE Advanced only after they have cleared JEE Main. The students should rank within the top 2,50,000 to be eligible for JEE Advanced.


  1. The first step is to visit the official JEE Advanced/NTA website.

  2. Register for the exam.

  3. Provide all your essential details.

  4. Upload all the required documents.

  5. Pay the application fee.

  6. Book the exam slots.

  7. Lastly, take the printout of the acknowledgment page to complete the application submission process.
